Thank you for
booking time with us at the Centre.
We hope that you will enjoy your visit.
We are happy to welcome
visit organisers to the centre before their group’s visit for a look around
and a chat.
Accompanying adults are responsible for their children at all times.

The ATC is on the banks of a canal. Visit organisers are asked to
warn their party beforehand of the dangers of running or mucking around
beside water, and to request that no one gets on to any of the barges that
are normally moored beside the centre. The Barges do not belong to us
and are the homes of the people that own them.

Vehicles cannot drive up to the centre. There are several car
parks in Hebden Bridge that are marked on the enclosed map that are suitable
for cars and minibuses. Large vehicles can normally park at the train
station.
Hebden Bridge has an efficient and varied public transport service,
information can be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre.

The Type 2 Plastic recycling workshop, which involves making key rings
and magnets has the students cutting plastic with children’s scissors, and
sawing simple lines through recycled plastic with coping saws. Goggles
are provided to protect their eyes.
The Type 4 Plastic recycling workshop, which involves making booklets and
bookmarks has either the students, or their supervisors ironing the plastic
with hot irons.
The Papermaking workshop may have the supervisor using a hand held
liquidisers, which does not have a safety screen, and must be switched off
before cleaning.
We ask that the students supervisors ensure that the students behave
suitably during the workshop.
If you do not think that the children should work with the above-mentioned
tools, please inform the ATC as soon as is feasible and we will try to
accommodate you.

The ATC is right beside a park. We ask visit organisers to take
their party to the park during lunch breaks so that the children can let off
stream in a suitable environment. The training room can be locked to
ensure the safety of anything that you would like to leave there. The
training room is of course available to you over lunch if it is too wet to
go out.

There are toilet and washing facilities at the bottom end of the arcade,
on the right hand side and hooks in the training room for your coats.

The Centre holds a ‘Green Shop’ that stocks an Aladdin’s cave of
environmentally friendly products. Visitors are welcome to browse the
shop after the workshop sessions, or during their lunch break. We ask
that large groups of young people browse the shop in numbers of up to 7,
with a supervising adult in tow. Our stock includes children’s
renewable energy kits and recycled stationary.
