To help reinforce the Recycle for Calderdale Schools campaign in Calderdale schools and stimulate understanding and discussion around waste in general, the SUSchool project has developed for Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council a fun engaging resource pack.

The Waste not want not pack uses active learning as a base for it’s teacher-developed games and activities and includes a photo pack and learning games, all of which can to be used to help pupils explore the contribution made by us all to our current waste predicament.  In addition to these resources, the pack includes contact details and information on local recycling/reusing/repairing organisations all of whom can help keep products from our landfills a little longer!

To complement the free to Calderdale primary schools Waste not want not pack, the Alternative Technology Centre’s education team – SUSchool is offering a free visit to each Calderdale primary school.  This visit can take the form of an assembly, or a workshop on waste awareness.  A workshop lasts for approximately one hour and can be delivered to a class, to a small selection of pupils from each year or to your environment group.  Full capacity for a workshop is 30 children.

To request your free resource pack and to request or discuss a visit from the SUSchool team, please email SUSchool on info@suschool.org.uk or ring the Alternative Technology Centre on 01422 842121.
